This is a genuine Eickhorn GO dagger, clearly never been touched and it has some condition issues. The front handle strap and mother of pearl grip plates are completely missing. I’m sure that 100% of the original plating is also gone but it is priced to reflect the poor overall condition of the piece, a lot of dealers are asking $5000+ for good examples of these pieces. A very rare piece even in this poor condition. Might be an ideal restoration project and I believe that at least the pearl grip plates are still available from JRB.

Item is located in the USA shipping to be paid on top of purchase price.

This is an interesting selection, being three period cutlery forks, silver plated, and well marked with the Eagle and Swastika.

The actual emblem is in a distinctive form, being a political style eagle with the swastika device set within what appears to be a cog-wheel – somewhat similar to the DAF emblem. It is possible that this cutlery is of a form that was produced for State owned industries, or a Technical College, for usage in the staff canteen

The forks are the products of three different manufacturers:
1)       One example has what appears to be the “Twins” emblem as used by the Henckels company of Solingen;
2) Another example is marked with the name of “Gowe silber”,
3) The third example bears the hallmarking emblem of what appears to be a Bear, but the naming text is not clear on the photo.

These are three interesting items which will have some appeal to the collector of ephemera.

My father inlaw brought the dagger back at the end of 1945. He had just been liberated by Paton. Head been in a concentration camp and was on a forced march back to Berlin. After his release he was by a Railroad Roundhouse where the Germans were storing many things to get out of Germany. He took a number fine things, a brand new Luger, 2 beautiful statues, medals, and the dagger. It appears to be in great condition. It says “all for the fatherlamd” on one side and has a circle on the other side with a RZ in it, and M7/9, 1942 below it. Until now it has been locked and wrapped in a safety deposit box.

This item is located in the US.

This dagger was given to me by my grandfather who was a Tank Colonel for the US Army.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
The dagger features a roughly, 10 3/8″, (26.5 cm), long, drop forged, steel construction, nickel/silver plated, stiletto style blade with a flat central ridge and a full length, including the hilt, of roughly, 14 1/2″, (37 cm). The blade is in overall very good, clean condition with light to moderate scabbard runner marks and most of the original cross-graining is still visible. The reverse ricasso is well marked with the deeply, acid etched, manufacturer’s name, logo and script, consisting of a seated squirrel, clutching a downward pointing sword with the name and location, “Eickhorn Solingen”, positioned beneath the squirrel and the script, “Original”, positioned above the squirrel. Of Note: This version of Eickhorn’s logo was utilized circa 1935-1941

This piece is double mint its absolutely stunning. No makers mark just the retailer acid etched on the top front of the blade but unfortunately it would not come out in the picture as the blade is just too shiny. Fantastic grip, scabbard and fittings its a real minter. The hangers are the rarer domed type and the portapee is in lovely condition. This is one of the best Army daggers I have ever seen it is stone cold mint.

Nice piece without makers mark, nice sharp detail on crossguards and scabbard. hangers have an unusual or replacement period fastner.
